Your responsibilities will include :
You will work closely with the Global Finance Services Accounting Team Lead and will be accountable for accurate and complete accounting and financial reporting of the legal entities operating in Europe.
You will apply principles of accounting to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports. You will maintain or oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as vendor payments, expense reimbursements and tax payments.
You will also prepare relevant balance sheet account analysis or other ad hoc accounting schedules and reports; may modify and / or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions and is responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
Some key activities for this role :
Assist in performing some accounting activities like international financial reporting, contract accounting, tax reporting, audit support, overhead accounting, complex foreign currency analysis, financial transactional and closing processes, and analysing and troubleshooting complex accounting issues.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (face to face and / or virtual) to understand customer needs, provide value added support, maintain positive customer relationships, and provide advice on accounting issues.
Work in cross functional teams to deliver results working with others in differing work cultures and time zones.
Develop solutions to assigned problems of limited scope and assist in the implementation of effective approved solutions.
Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships, ensuring effective and professional interaction with Lockheed Martin (LM) management, employees, customers, contractors and suppliers
About you :
Our ideal candidate demonstrates the following traits and skills : -
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance, Commercial etc.) from a recognised institution, and / or equivalent relevant experience.
The candidate with lower level of qualifications but with more accounting experience would also be considered.
Knowledge of current accounting is essential; as well as computer literacy with an ability to analyse, interpret and prepare reports and management information.
Basic to intermediate skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applications (i.
e. ERP / accounting systems).
Experience working within a large multinational corporate environment and / or handling accounts payable transactions at least two years are highly desirable.
Fluency in business level English is essential for this role.
