The objective of the pricing team is to set the optimal price to deliver value (efficiency, sustainability, delightful experiences) to Grab and our customers.

In this exciting opportunity, you would be laying down a multi-year strategy to improve the reliability and efficiency of our pricing systems to achieve 99.

99+ availability. You would also be inheriting a highly functional engineering team as well as outlining career progression for every individual on the team to set them up for success.

Get to know the Role :

Lead a team of Software Engineers working on critical, customer-facing Pricing service.

Establish engineering best practices and participate in code / architecture reviews.

Hands-on web services development in Golang.

Strategic roadmap planning in collaboration with product, product analytics, data science.

Increase the overall velocity of the team by addressing the tech debts in the existing systems.

Establish effective paging to support critical services during extended business hours.

Communicate high-level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including senior leadership.

Deliver results at high quality and on-time.

Recruit high-quality engineering talent for the team.

The must-haves :

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field.

10+ years of software development management experience with 3+ years of experience in directly managing 10+ engineers.

Hands-on programming and technical design skills.

Experience with backend technologies : Golang, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL.

Experience in Machine Learning.

Ability to plan long into the future, but deliver incremental value now.

Have a track record of designing, developing and implementing complex, low-latency, web services with over one million users.

Experience leading large teams of engineers and driving large-scale, mission-critical projects and products, in collaboration with product, design and commercial teams, to succeed.

Able to attract, develop, and keep high-quality multi-disciplinary teams.

Belief in quality over quantity.

Strong communication skills and can act as an advisor, coach, mentor, and partner all at the same time.
