Job Purpose :

The Medical Lead contributes to the development of medical strategy in the APAC Cluster, and provides Medical input into Brand Strategies and Medical guidance, ensuring support during the life cycle of relevant products (including Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS)).

The Medical Lead is in charge of providing external and internal customers with medical and scientific information on the appropriate utilization of specific products of AAA, properly documented and compliant with Laws & Policies.

The Medical Lead will report to the APAC Cluster head and will support the development of local Medical Affair ensuring that all activities are in line with the Commercial strategy and therapeutic area objectives.

The Medical Lead NET / PSMA will need to be a credible and valued scientific resource of AAA in a variety of scientific interactions with key stakeholders at national level, also coordinating MSLs’ operations.

This position requires Field based activities (60%) and back office presence (40%), detailed as follows :

Field based activities (60%) :

30% Time :

  • Act as first line AAA medical contact for Healthcare Practitioners and patient Advocacy Groups
  • Leading and coordinate the activities of MSL’s ensuring optimal focus customer’s orientation.
  • Planning and execute the local territory activities of MSL’s
  • Create and deliver disease and product training new entrants
  • Develop scientific tools in order to successfully perform his / her job (i.e. scientific platform content, presentation of new data, etc.).
  • Contribute to the development, attend and present at appropriate meetings (advisory board meetings, investigator meetings, KOL meetings, AAA Meetings)
  • Performing local plans for Med Affair in collaboration.
  • 30% Time :

  • Establish and / or enhance partnerships with key academic institutions and develop relationships with key thought leaders as well as appropriate collaborations with KOLs.
  • Mapping, identification, and segmentation, of KOLs in the assigned region, and engaging KOLs with credible, fair balanced, scientific information about AAA products, AAA research activities, and AAA product development initiatives.
  • Balanced medical information for Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and will be capable of issues management and addressing scientific questions, including queries on safety and off label use of AAA products based on available scientific data.
  • Office based activities (40%) :

  • Leading the management of IIS (clinical studies), phase IV clinical studies in the Italian affiliate ensuring : proper documentation, contracts, oversight, payments, drug shipments, logistics.
  • Management of publications related to the brands.
  • Management of Medical Information Requests
  • Support the marketing and market access strategies for all AAA focus products by being a key member on cross-functional teams.
  • The Medical Lead will be the owner to start the process within Med Affair (Advisory Boards, Stand alone; IIS’s proposal
  • Minimum requirements

    Education : MD, PhD or PharmD and experience in relevant therapeutic areas

    Languages : English and Korean fluent in spoken and written, Mandarin would be a plus

    Experience / Professional requirements :

  • 10+ years of experience in driving and managing the medical strategy for various brands in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in working in multi-country setting
  • Experience in new markets
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members.
  • Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement programs and systems required to drive continue growth of the business.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
