About the team The Technical Director - Hyperscale is accountable for the technical aspects of the Hyperscale program.
He or she is expected to lead engineering efforts around customer interfaces such as installations, design reviews, customer feedback to core design, operational impacts of design changes, etc.
This person will be perceived as an industry expert by customers, competitors and peers in their region and globally.
The Technical Director - Hyperscale will also be an expert in the competitive landscape and competitive set where we operate.
We will look to this person to influence technical strategy, report on competitor innovation and have a detailed and current picture of market trends, pricing and competitor win / loss information.
Responsibilities · Acts as customer facing engineering lead - respond to RFPs, customer technical questions and lead customer design reviews.
The commercial teams will look to this role to manage cost tradeoffs and suggest customer "localization" to our design and build program.
This role should be considered a trusted advisor to the customer engineering, deployment and operations teams. · Represents Hyperscale program technical leadership in region.
Requirements · 5-10 Years of datacenter engineering experience.
Hyperscale or cloud service provider experience preferred. · Undergraduate degree in an engineering, science or technical discipline.
Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred. · Understanding and experience with all major datacenter subsystems (e.g.
Electrical, mechanical, fuel, controls, security, telecommunications access, etc.) · Understanding and experience with datacenter construction and construction management
