As a Trading Support Engineer , you will work closely with our technology teams and external parties providing world-class support investigating and resolving a variety of technical and business issues every day.
Your success with depend on your ability to rapidly identify and resolve business impacting issues. Your work will range from addressing time-
sensitive, critical problems to managing long-term projects. You will provide direct, hands-on support to trading desks on a daily basis, and help define their technology requirements for other teams across the firm.
What you’ll be working on :
Providing best-in-class software deployment, configuration, and support processes with proactive monitoring for our trading infrastructure
Ensuring maximum trading system availability for teams across a variety of asset classes and geographic locations
Developing proprietary process automation and monitoring tools while leveraging third-party technologies where appropriate
Troubleshooting trading system production incidents resulting from internal (proprietary software / systems) or external factors (markets, data feeds, telecommunication lines)
Working interactively with global teams such as trade support, DBAs, core development, back office systems, infrastructure, and management when deploying production releases and troubleshooting technical issues
Participate in the support, expansion and retro-fitting of office and co-location facilities
What we are looking for :
3+ years of experience working with Linux (CentOS and / or Ubuntu experience is a plus)
Experience with Microsoft Windows administration and Microsoft Office support
Experience working in the trading industry supporting electronic trading systems
Experience with data center physical and logical operations
Superior troubleshooting skills with respect to trading systems and their interaction with the Linux operating system and network communications
Script development experience, preferably with Python or Bash
Experience supporting high performance applications, process monitoring, and troubleshooting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, planning, documentation, and knowledge management skills
Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity; exhibits ongoing personal and professional growth by applying new skills and knowledge
Flexibility with on-call and weekend infrastructure change efforts
High level of ownership and accountability, reliability, and strong follow through
Ability to handle pressure and time constraints with composure
