Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Products and Technologies, the reference market and its key players (customers, competitors, retailers, distributors, government bodies), underlying
  • market trends and influences.
  • Define a suitably focused and detailed commercial strategy, in collaboration with the
  • Commercial Director. Prepare and agree a detailed five-year business plan and keep it updated.
  • Identify and prioritize new business and specific customer opportunities through the establishment of internal and external networks, and through the sourcing and application of good market intelligence.
  • Utilize technical resources for assistance as required for the development of the business
  • plan.
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis with the other Sales Managers, with Commercial Director and other
  • senior Directors, to keep them informed of the business plan, marketing and planning strategies,
  • customer developments (including key projects), technical requirements and other relevant details.
  • Define the best shape of the territory sales force to achieve business goals through direct Sales
  • employees, Distributors or local Agents.
  • Sell the Company brand in the reference market
  • Customer Relationship Management

  • Manage the Customer Relationship to build long lasting relationships at multiple levels (sales,
  • technical, operations)
  • Identify, qualify, manage and close innovative opportunities with Customers.
  • Create a robust and sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Prioritize and manage customer projects in collaboration with Technical teams.
  • Enable sharing of relevant information to ensure that Customers’ interests are clearly understood
  • and defended by Technical and Operations departments (sample turnaround, production
  • scheduling, order delivery, etc) to provide best-in-class customer satisfaction and service.
  • Negotiate sales terms and conditions, variations in price, delivery and product specifications.
  • Use Company’s CRM System to reliably maintain and quickly communicate valuable information
  • Financial Assessment

  • Work with Finance Commercial people to assess business strategy alignment or changes for impact on the Country sales levels.
  • Within a defined range established by Finance, negotiate pricing with Customers to assure an
  • adequate margin to meet Company operating profit expectations.
  • Model the economics of the business frequently (more often than monthly if necessary).
  • Monitor cost trends for basic inputs that may give rise to pricing adjustments.
  • Requirements

  • University degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Marketing or Business Management;
  • Superior ability in using Microsoft Office 365 software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • CRM usage
  • Good knowledge of Google tools and applications, good e-mail use, good ability to search for information on the net;
  • Good understanding of major social media platforms Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.;
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the application of natural and artificial ingredients / flavors and their forms, descriptions, solubility, regulatory status and worldwide acceptability.
  • Knowledge of other relevant product characteristics, their importance, how they interact and how they can be influenced.
  • Good Communication skills (communicate clearly, concisely, effectively in Local and English language written and oral)
