AWS is seeking a seasoned enterprise sales representative to help us establish AWS as the market leader for a database, and help customers achieve Database freedom by helping them migrate from traditional database engines to cloud-native ones on AWS.

As the Database Modernization Sales Specialist in ASEAN within Amazon Web Services (AWS) Migration Growth Team (MGT), you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of an emerging technologies that will have a significant impact on our customer’s technical strategy.

Your responsibilities will include driving revenue, adoption, and market penetration by leading Database migrations sales to Amazon Aurora -

a MySQL and PostgreSQL - compatible relational database built for the cloud, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Neptune, Amazon QLDB, Amazon Timestream and Amazon DocumentDB.

Your responsibilities will involve leading direct customer engagements, helping our customers increase the productivity and efficiency of their business by migrating their Databases to AWS which will increase performance, agility, and reliability whilst also reducing their TCO.

Working within the ASEAN Migration team, you will be aligned to other Database business development, partner and solution architect specialists, as well as wider migration specialists to help enterprises migrate at scale and pace.

Working in AWS’s field organization, and along side account teams you will help drive customer outcomes by working with partners, and contribute to the global AWS Database Freedom goals.

By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing the day-to-day interactions with these stakeholders, you will be responsible for driving top line revenue growth and overall end customer adoption across AWS Enterprise Market Segment.

The successful candidate will also possess a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the CxO / VP level, as well as a technical understanding that enables them to easily interact with developers and technical architects.

He / she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-

organizationally to build consensus.

Work close with the AWS Field sales team as the Database Migration Sales subject matter expert for all related customer engagements.

  • Set a strategic plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction and growth targets.
  • Work with existing AWS, partner field organizations to define and execute joint sales, go to market programs and identify their Database migration journey to AWS and engage specific teams for the execution (SA, ProServ, Global Team, others)
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of all Database migration opportunities and provide updates of the key customer engagements on a timely manner.
  • Identify market dynamics and propose actions to respond and support customers.
  • Understand and exploit the use of and other internal Amazon systems.
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team.
  • The right person will possess 10+ years of sales, business development and program management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-level executives.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences.
  • Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory or industry vertical.
  • Consistently exceeds quota and key performance metrics.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive account / territory plan.
  • Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS database, analytics, and machine learning services
  • Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • 50% of travel, as required to cover ASEAN
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • A technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS a plus.
  • MBA preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
  • Experience working with cloud computing technologies / companies.
  • Proven track record of success driving adoption of disruptive technologies within enterprise accounts.
