The Role :
S&P Global Ratings has an opening for a Director in their Infrastructure and Utilities Ratings Practice in Singapore to be filled immediately.
This is additional headcount to support growth in South and South East Asia (SSEA) which includes India and the ASEAN countries.
The position will report to the Analytical Manager for APAC Infrastructure and Utilities Ratings based in Hong Kong.
The Team / Business : The Infrastructure and Utilities Ratings Practice (the Practice) was established by S&P Global Ratings to expand our ratings franchise in an area of strong global growth and to leverage our significant infrastructure expertise across the full range of infrastructure asset classes.
Globally, Practice members reside in 24 locations and work on a diverse range of transactions applying different ratings criteria, predominantly corporate and project finance.
We also work on transactions in partnership with other practices on a regular basis. Effective teamwork, strong written and verbal communication skills and a thoughtful approach to problem solving are highly valued.
This growth is especially strong in SSEA where the development and financing of infrastructure projects is essential for continued economic development.
The countries in the region all have forecast GDP growth rates that are among the highest globally and the financing of new infrastructure, the expansion of existing assets and operation and maintenance of existing stock are driving significant investment requirements.
The current portfolio predominantly encompasses private and publically-owned credits in the power generation (both thermal and renewable), utility, airport and road sectors.
While the majority of the transactions are rated under our corporate methodology, we are seeing significant growth in the non-recourse project finance sector.
