We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and organized Design & Production Engineer to join our growing team. You will be part of a team supporting Advanced Composite & Materials development, prototyping and production.
In this position, you will work with the Composite team to transform concepts and drawings into prototypes for testing, validation and improvement for ultimately mass volume production.
You will also be responsible for creating plans / drawings, collaborate with key suppliers and oversee the performance and efficiency of existing prototype and production processes meet costs, schedule and quality requirements.
Job Description :
Produce design ideas, based on research, into technical plans for prototypes using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-
assisted engineering (CAE) software
Control of Bill of Materials (BoM), CAD Models and Engineering Drawings
Collaborate with engineers to develop innovative prototypes and products
Develop and implement prototyping and production strategies by leveraging on key suppliers and vendors in the supply chain
Develop process improvements strategy to effectively utilize tools, equipment and materials to maximize production
Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for production
Develop and organize plans and create schedules
Prepare documentations, such as operating instructions for testing and production protocols
Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive solutions
Carry out composite prototyping and production processes
Carry out mechanical testing using UTM such as tensile, flexural, lap shear and compression testing
Perform laboratory maintenance, housekeeping, administration, security and safety
Generate, analyze and maintain good records of prototyping and production documentations.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, or related field
3-5 years previous experience in a similar role
A sound knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software, technical drawings and 3D modelling
Knowledge & experience in polymer / composites processes and material characterization
A good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and production methodologies
Strong aptitude for creating detailed drawings and specification
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Self-motivated, independent, resourceful, a good team player with good problem solving skills
