Traineeship Description :
This position reports to the Commercial Director (CD) or Head of Commercial (HOC).

Specific Responsibilities :
Trainee to be involved in :
Embrace the DF Way placing customers as priority. Researching consumers needs and adding new items within assigned category.
Researching and strategizing growing market trends to maximize profitability.
Support HOC / Commercial managers with sourcing and range developments.
Supporting HOC in executing Key Fresh projects to increase sales and gross profit.
Commercial range management to maintain assigned category products range to ensure quality, specifications and pricing integrity meets corporate policies.
Planning and promoting product lines creatively and effectively.
Learn to be proficient with SAP merchandise system functionalities.
Monitoring and reporting category sales growth.
New product testing to ensure quality and consistency.
Managing stocks inventory in an efficient and effective way by facilitating stock availability and turn.
Engaging in cross-functional teamwork.
Technical Skills and Competencies Trainee will learn during SGUnited Traineeship Programme :
Active participation in strategic planning process, including developing goals, objectives and processes.
Consumer centric category management - understanding need states of consumers during decision making as key objective.
Training on SAP Merchandise system functionalities and end-to-end processes to enable effective buying.
Commercial Trade strategies - learn all about competitive positioning and the successful marketing and retailing a product.
Pricing and Marketing strategies - Drive pricing, merchandising display, marketing and trade promotions for own's category products to make them visible, accessible, and appealing to customers - optimize sales and margins.
Product Development new range development that leads to increased sales. Which include mfg plants and facilities visits.
Vendor management - Maintain a productive relationship with vendors that are mutually beneficial. Manage vendor supply fulfilment to maximize >
95% fulfilment to stores.
Effective negotiation skills.
Teamwork - Create an engaging relationship with operations (internal customers) and external customers that is interactive and satisfying.
Honing own's hard and soft management skills, analytical and retail management skills (attention to detail), as well as people relationship skills.

Highest Qualification : Degree in relevant studies
Duration of Traineeship / s : Up to 12 months
Eligibility Criteria for SGUnitedTraineeships :
Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
Graduated or graduating in calendar year 2019 or 2020 from ITEs, polytechnics, universities, or other educational institutions (e.
g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2019 or 2020.
