Position Purpose & Summary :
Lead the Technical Service team in Singapore, KL, China and Gresik to cover APAC countries
Manage our innovation centre in Singapore and connect with the wider Cargill application teams
Manage and prioritise the project pipeline for customer focused projects to be in line with the Product Line Business strategy and in cooperation with Sales and Product Line Management.
Ensure smooth execution of the project portfolio and ensure there is a flawless transfer into production to meet operational standards.
Identify and understand customer needs to translate these needs into tangible innovative product offerings & solutions.
Identify market trends and transfer these into new opportunities and projects for Cargill.
Perform capability building and strategic workforce planning that is in line with the department strategy.
Cooperate with and leverage the capabilities of the various Technical Services, R&D and Application teams in Cargill across the various Product Groups.
Develop innovative products and solutions in application area of Cocoa & Chocolates.
Lead longer term innovation initiatives and projects for the APAC product lines.
Build and develop a high performing team that is technically trained and resourced to meet future demands.
Principal Accountabilities :
35% - Commercial and Customer Service :
Advice and support customers in applications projects for Cocoa products.
Be responsible for technical sales support.
Develop the technical customer relationship which includes key R&D decision makers to understand customer strategy and needs so that we can transfer these into tangible projects
Utilisethe Singapore innovation center to engage with customers.
35% - Innovation and product development :
Plan and execute innovation based growth to be in line with BU direction.
Be responsible for converting customers’ requirements into internal projects.
Support customers in product development by initiating new product development processes on customer requirements.
Be responsible for the overall Technical Services budget.
Manages resources for an efficiently and effectively to deliver all Technical Services.
Communicate and record knowledge in agreed formats like SFDC.
Contribute to the Product Group and Product Line strategies through reporting market and business trends, unmet needs, opportunities and competitive information.
30% - Coordination and Leading the Team :
Coordinate and control work streams for the individuals team members.
Prioritise different projects with the sales team.
Determine trainings, knowledge and skill needs and development for the Asia team.
Be accountable for performance management, talent development, recruiting / hiring, compensation management, succession planning and engagement of direct reports
Required Education & Experience :
Deep knowledge of Cocoa, Cocoa application, and production.
Strong understanding of competitor products within the Cocoa and Chocolates space.
Technical bachelor’s degree, preferably in food technology.
Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience working directly with customers, preferably in a B2B environment.
Minimum 10 years working experience in food industry, preferably in Cocoa, alternatively in oils & fats, diary, sweeteners, confectionery, drinks sectors.
Able to travel up to 30% to customers’ locations, and / or other R&D centres in APAC.
Leadership experience of at least 3 years or led at least 4 to 5 people.
