The Government Digital Services (GDS) Team aims to spearhead the digital transformation of government. We are a team of technologists in GovTech that aims to design and develop software applications that help government agencies better serve the needs of Singaporeans.
We adopt an Agile development approach and work towards adopting tech best practices and cutting edge tools. Our team in GDS aims to improve lives by empowering change with the right technologies and better user experience.
We have built a scrum team of technologists who have developed a suite of digital analytics and web performance tools that serves the Whole of Government, to improve government services with data.
As a product designer, you will work with other government agencies to inform product and design decisions. You will get to influence how the government use data to improve services.
This will involve having good interpersonal skill, sharp analytical mind, and astute design judgment. You will work closely with our designers, engineers, and product managers to continuously deliver features for transforming government agencies to be data-driven.
This is a mid to senior level role. That saying, we encourage product designer with at least 2 years experience in designing dashboard / widget / data visualization to apply.
This role sits with the WOGAA scrum team, as a member of the UX team in Dcube (GDS).
What to Expect :
Understand the product strategy, do stock take on the UX status of the project, and contribute design screens for concurrent active sprints.
Test, prototype, and ship new features to the product backlog
Lead research efforts to identify opportunities for the product to grow, in collaboration with designers, engineers, and product managers.

How to Succeed :
You need to be confident with quantitative analysis in order to succeed in this role.
You are data-driven yourself, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative user research, in order to use data to influence product directions
Knowledge of the suite of consumer analytics tools out in the market, e.g. Google Analytics / Adobe Analytics
You find the quickest route to design, test, and ship a design prototype to 'prove' a concept. Be agile and lean.
Ability for astute design judgment when it comes to designing dashboards, and to represent data in visualization for even layman person
Understand breakpoints in a mobile responsive product
Frontend development knowledge is a bonus
Scrum experience is valuable, but not a must
Strategist hardly work alone. You have to work well with your scrum team and agencies to strategize the product direction together
Able to present and communicate well.
