Finished Goods Planning Manager
The FG Planning Manager leads a team in performing planning function for Micron Finish Good warehouse (cross sites).
The main function is to lead the team in achieving optimal build of products in the correct quantity and package type, achieving customer satisfaction through closely monitored planning using Microns supply chain tools (such as Shiplists, SOS, GATP).
He or she is expected to work very closely with other Planning teams to achieve continuous improvements in the supply chain flow.
He or she is also be responsible for develops employee performance, allocates staffing, and maintains and improves group productivity.
In addition, the manager demonstrates initiative and dependability, and implements, communicates, monitors, and supports change.
The manager also verifies and releases sales orders for customer shipments, monitors Finished Goods and Post Electrical inventory, quality execution and performs rework.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Verifies and Releases Sales Orders for Customer Shipments
Monitors SAP for daily and weekly shipments, for backlog orders and additions, and for Post Electrical inventory.
Uses SAP to move product through Post Electrical.
Reads e-mail regularly to identify problem orders, process changes, production line problems, etc...
Communicates with Product Coordinators, MOD planners, Test planners, Post Electrical leadership, and Finished Goods leadership about products and shipments.
Follows up on issues in a timely manner, and communicates short-term constraints, issues, priorities, and special instructions.
Analyzes global inventories, communicates to the appropriate groups, and makes adjustments as necessary.
Backlog review process and work with SCP expedite the supply to ensure the customer shipment on time.
Monitors Finished Goods and Post Electrical Inventory
Monitors SAP periodically for inventory verification and potential inventory discrepancies.
Assists in conducting and serves as a resource for the yearly external inventory audits for the Finished Goods Supervisor.
Monitors SAP to verify old or outdated inventory is re-bagged.
Ensures that all slow moving inventory is questioned and discussed the appropriate resources. Push related department on the slow moving and excess inventory
Notifies Finished Goods leadership immediately about any inventory discrepancies.
Monitors e-mail on a regular basis for rework requests and responds in a timely manner.
Uses SAP to post rework inventory to Post Electrical and to block Finished Goods inventory as requested.
Enters notes in SAP for rework requests, and includes all affected groups.
Enters ClearQuest rework requests as needed.
Maintains Group Productivity
Monitors and communicates planning needs, recognizes and addresses production inefficiencies, and monitors shift performances.
Maintains a working knowledge of processes, procedures, and policies in the departments.
Utilizes production reports to monitor the output.
Is proactive, encourages improvements, sets priorities, and tries to prevent potential problems before they occur.
Manages and follows through on projects.
Identifies opportunities for improvements and leads or facilitates meetings, brainstorming meetings, quality teams, and discussions.
Proposes, tests, and plans for long term process improvements.
Looks at problems from all angles, gathers all the information available, and looks to available resources for solutions.
Determines and evaluates staffing needs, and evaluates the staffs knowledge and skills to determine if staffing levels will meet the production plan.
Monitors, tracks, and addresses employee attendance and overtime.
Maintains knowledge of interviewing and hiring laws.
Provides feedback to candidates that were not selected for a position.
Informs other groups about staffing changes.
Conducts terminations and disciplinary actions in accordance with proper procedures.
Manages and Develops Employee Performance
Monitors the performance of employees and provides ongoing performance feedback, mentoring, and career development.
Clearly identifies and communicates employee expectations.
Ensures employees understand the implications of their performance, and determines the reason(s) for any performance discrepancies.
Creates performance plans and conducts performance evaluations.
Meets with lower performing team members and works to develop an improvement plan.
Recognizes and develops potential leadership candidates.
Enforces workplace policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Maintains a working knowledge of supervisory legal issues and business law.
7+ years of related working experience, 5+ years employee management.
Familiar with the SAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
