Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative compliance and risk professional to serve as the Senior Compliance Manager for Payments across APAC.

In this role, you will provide Compliance subject matter expertise to help ensure Amazon’s compliance with local payments regulations, while still influencing Amazon teams to deliver a world-class paying experience for our customers.

You will develop internal policies and tools to ensure ongoing compliance.

We are seeking a customer-obsessed individual who is passionate about payments and the intersection of it with commerce, focusing on how to remove friction and add value for Amazon customers.

You will work directly with local regulators, and Amazon’s public policy, legal, compliance, payments product and operations, finance, accounting and PR teams to drive initiatives to address regulatory compliance needs and associated reporting.

This will be a highly visible role at the regional and global level.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Work with Legal and Product stakeholders to understand applicable regulations and regulatory risks associated with launching new businesses, products or features
  • Serve as the primary point person for compliance in the region across all the licenses and products and services owned and operated by Amazon in APAC
  • Develop and own Compliance programs to ensure local regulatory and card network compliance
  • Collaborate with internal risk management teams to identify steps necessary to mitigate regulatory risk and provide recommendations to business partners in the form of clear Compliance requirements
  • Establish metrics and reporting to monitor compliance with regulations and network rules

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in payments and / or e-commerce technologies in regulatory compliance, fraud risk management, operational risk management, information security or other related fields
  • Strong analytical and regulatory background and capability to apply that knowledge quickly and in ambiguous situations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to engage, influence and align individuals of varying levels of seniority and tenure, externally and internally
  • Comfortable working with both local and globally dispersed colleagues
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment, while remaining long-term focused in designing solutions and processes
  • Strong familiarity with the payments industry

  • MBA preferred
  • Certification in compliance related area, such as ACAMS, ICA, CIPP, CRP or CRCM
  • Prior experience in a Senior Compliance Role at a global enterprise
  • Fun, engaging and team-oriented personality
