The Director of quality position will report directly to the senior vice president of materials and be a key member of the Materials Leadership Team.

The position has responsibility for driving continued improvements in quality assurance, analytical capabilities for each product line, quality control within each material’s operating plant and quality engineering resources within each site.

As a leader in the semiconductor materials industry, Versum’ s goal is to lead the way in quality and this key role will drive the leadership and innovation in this area with support by the broader materials leadership team and executive management within Versum.

Job Summary Drive continued culture of quality in Versum Materials, to continue to grow Versum’ s leadership around quality within the semiconductor materials industry, including roadmap progression aligned with our leading-edge customer’s requirements

  • Drive a culture of data driven continuous improvement, sponsored by the business and operations leadership . Responsible for driving consistent quality processes and ensuring that systems are deployed leveraging best practice across operating teams.
  • o Set and regularly review goals and objectives to ensure global consistency for products and services.

  • Experience in a senior Operations leadership role that had direct accountability for delivering to customer Quality expectations.
  • Anticipate and react to evolving needs of customers advocating embracement of Kano Model. Versum’ s focus is to exceed next node requirements and to be a technology partner and key supplier into advanced roadmaps.
  • Champion Versum initiatives and quality roadmap development and deployment, that ensures sustainable quality leadership.

  • Plan and implements quality initiatives across the materials plants and platforms.
  • Establish strong and appropriate relationships with other materials leaders. Develop smooth and constructive relationships with executive colleagues, outside customers, organizations and individuals.
  • Drive future roadmaps for analytical capabilities, quality control improvements and drive synergies across platforms where possible.
  • In collaboration with the broader leadership team, drive a six-sigma culture and leverage these skills for data driven quality improvements. 1. Roadmap Development
  • Owns the roadmap for quality improvements and capabilities across the materials organization
  • Drives and supports projects aligned to strategy and customer needs
  • Drives implementation of key capabilities that will enable the roadmap2. Management and Administration
  • Ensure activities comply with organizational requirements for quality management, legal stipulations, and general duty of care.
  • Set operational and / or performance goals for each department which are aggressive, achievable and tied to long-term goals
  • Establish and monitor performance reporting systems
  • Conduct regular meetings with business platform and functional leaders to ensure that priorities are clear and aligned with business and customer priorities.
  • Ensure quality control of all company output as pertains to customer acquisition and delivery of services including change control management related to notification, evaluation, disposition, reporting, implementation and tracking of proposed changes to commercial products.3. Legal compliance
  • Advise the Versum management team on key planning issues and make recommendations on important business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal laws of all company output as pertains to customer acquisition and delivery of services and maintain company standing ISO 9001 standingCandidate Requirements
  • Technical degree in chemistry, chemical / mechanical engineering. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience in specialty materials industry is required, experience in semiconductor or aligned materials industry is a plus.
  • Strong background in six-sigma and experience in driving enterprise level improvements around quality. Black belt certification is required for this position.
  • 10 years of experience and proven ability to influence executive and operations management and champion change across the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, possession of strong organizational skills and attention to detail is critical for success on the job
