Job Description Investment Associate Intern
AGAM currently has an opening for an Investment Associate Intern to support the investment team in identifying, evaluating and executing Investments in Singapore and Europe.
S / he will also get the opportunity to support AGAM’s Velocity venture building program and the business acceleration program starting in September 2018.
Through the work, the successful candidate will get the skills, experience and network to identify and execute investments and will get a clear understanding of how a small, fast moving investment firm works.
S / he will meet with multiple companies and learn how to structure investments in Singapore and abroad.
S / he would report to the Investment Director. The internship could lead to a full-time role within the firm.
The specific responsibilities for this position :
Identify companies for investment by building a network within the local startup ecosystem, attending events, following up on leads from other members of the firm
Validating companies by reviewing addressable market, competition, technologies and management teams etc.
Prepare investment documentation and valuation models to evaluate the proposed investment
Present investment candidates to the management and support the IC process
Monitor and track the progress of all investee companies
Constantly monitor market and competitive developments and develop financial models to exit each investee company
Eligibility, desired skill set and personal traits :
Previous work experience, ideally in management consulting, family office, startup or equities research
MBA / Masters, Engineering undergraduate degree will be a plus
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated
Knowledge of basic investment industry terminology
Strong interest in VC / PE and startups
Strong verbal and written communications skills in English. European languages or Japanese is a plus
Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team
Strong attention to detail, quick learner, outcome oriented, able to work with deadlines
