The successful candidate will be an experienced camera operator and video editor with proven shooting, production and editing skills.
The cameraman will work closely with the correspondent to produce engaging news and current affairs stories. He or she is someone who works creatively and quickly in a team setting, and does well independently when required.
Operate various types of cameras for news as well as current affairs production
Carry out audio recording
Advise the correspondent on camera techniques and creative angles
Carry out preventive maintenance and conduct regular equipment testing
At least 3 years of camera experience with an interest in news and current affairs
Solid knowledge of technical operation and functions of the ENG camera, tripod, lights, microphones and cables
Experience with live shots, able / willing to learn to operate satellite modem (Bgan) and Live U (bounded mobile decoder) or similar device
Able to work independently without the correspondent on location
Able to edit sequences using Adobe Premiere or other editing systems and send via FTP using broadband network or via satellite broadcast
Able to travel overseas for assignments as and when required
Able to communicate in English and Chinese is a plus so as to liaise with Taiwan associates
Prepared to work on irregular shifts including weekends and Public Holidays
Good team player and self-starter, need to remain up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques
