The Communications team is responsible for telling the Grab story around the world. Whether it’s speaking to media and online influencers, industry commentators, thought leaders or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Grab.
The Communications team is a strategic partner and solution provider to the multiple business functions in Grab to help them drive their business objectives.
The team ensures that internal and external stakeholders understand and support Grab’s vision and business strategy, including corporate partnerships, new products, partner programmes, marketing campaigns and internal programmes .
Get to know the Role :
Grab is seeking a Communications Manager to support its policy communications efforts in Southeast Asia. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Grab’s mission, is an excellent writer, and has a proven track record of executing high-
profile, creative campaigns and handling corporate issues and public affairs matters. The role requires managing proactive and reactive communications, from developing policy positions to managing issues.
You will work closely with the public affairs team.
The day-to-day activities :
Create and implement a long term policy communications strategy to support Grab’s commitment and investments into impacting the lives of people in Southeast Asia as an everyday super app
Provide communications counsel and lead communications activities on Grab’s most pressing policy issues in the region
Create sustainable programmes that help educate key stakeholders, including press, policy makers and public about Grab’s approach on policy issues
Work with Grab’s public affairs, legal and safety teams to tackle issues and build proactive communications moments
Develop messaging on Grab's policy work in this region with ability to distil complex policy concepts into plain language
The must haves :
8-10+ years professional experience in communications, with proven track record managing complex policy or crisis communications issues
Self-starter with a desire to tackle hard issues
Excellent writing, strong project management and decision-making skills
Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of editors, reporters and thought leaders
Experience managing diverse cross-functional stakeholder relations in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
Integrated marketing communications
Internet sector experience preferred
Experience working in a regional or global team
Experience working in a fast-growth company
