Seeking a Team Manager to manage a new, highly educated, agile team that provides expert support for editors, authors and reviewers throughout the journal article peer review process.

The Team Manager will develop, coach and motivate the team - leveraging their individual skills and subject matter expertise to ensure a high quality, rapid and robust peer review experience.

The team works in a dynamic environment where the Team Manager will be required to manage multiple projects while continuing to expand and improve services

What You’ll Do :

  • Manage aspects of the peer review process from submission to final editorial decision using best practice principles and effective time management practices.
  • Review journal workflows, identifying and implementing changes to improve efficiency.
  • Manage a team of Editorial Assistants in ethical, efficient journal editorial office management.
  • To facilitate the creation and maintenance of a team capable of providing the finest peer review experience for authors, reviewers and editors.
  • To create and maintain a high-performing, cohesive team that leverages individual skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Develop team members through coaching, feedback, exposure and training.
  • Ability to handle teams and assist with multiple projects simultaneously
  • What You’ll Need :

  • Must have proven track record of working with Science, Technology, Engineering, Math / Medicine (STEM) journals or publisher
  • Masters in a core science is essential a PhD in life science, material science, chemistry, or physics is highly desirable
  • 4-5 years in leadership / management role
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel is required
  • Ability to deal with challenging problems and proactively identifying additional customer support opportunities
  • Ability to work in an international setting, building and maintaining relationships on both and in-person and remote basis.
  • Prior knowledge of handling online manuscripts submission and peer review management systems is essential
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential
  • Ability to independently organize, execute, manage and track all assigned tasks
