Global Business Consultant (GBC) - F&R

Role Overview

The Global Business Consultant (GBC) provides support and analysis to the Global Business Director(GBD) for our largest strategic clients.

The GBC supports the GBD with driving revenue andrelationship growth and is responsible for collating, analysing and presenting globalaccount metrics,account reviews and commercial enhancements.

The GBC is required to help the GBD withcommunication of specific account initiatives and long term strategy, both internally and externally.

They will have a broad understanding of the customer and a constant focus on improving the

Responsibilities

Provide global support and financial and business analysis to the GBD, presenting insight and

recommendations to maximise revenue opportunities in a highly complex environment e.g.

commercial agreements, usage, revenue.

Provide support to the GBD for contract creation, negotiation, the end to end annual price

increase.

Ensure that all necessary company resources are brought together to support the GBD’s

with their objectives.

Be able to explain the results and conclusions and to articulate the outcome of their analysis

to the GBD with recommend improvements as well as gain agreement to move forward with

development of large initiatives with significant impact to the Company’s goals.

Participate in key leadership meetings to provide updates where needed as well as present

and formulate proposals as and when requested by the GBD.

Partner with Finance, Business Operations & Planning and Customer Administration (CA), to

provide analytics, intelligence, forecasting and reporting to help inform and drive business

decisions.

Work closely with Commercial Policy and Legal to ensure that partnership agreements and

special deals comply with Thomson Reuters terms & conditions.

Manage relationships with key stakeholders both with the customer and within TR i.e.

Strategic Customers and Solutions (SCS), CA etc.

Implement effective communication plans and operating rhythm with global teams to

ensure consistent execution of the global account strategy, improve the customer

relationship and to provide regular and accurate reports / analysis.

Deliver high quality project delivery, working with relevant internal and external people,

staying within the constraints of scope, time and cost to agreed levels of quality e.g. major

displacement programs, migrations and upgrades.

Requirements

Relevant academic degree and / or equivalent experience

Effective communication skills - able to articulate complex ideas to external / internal senior

leadership.

Ability to exercise independent judgment to recognise critical financial impact to the

business.

Facilitative & collaborative skills with the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders &

clients.

Leadership ability to motivate and lead others in a matrix environment.

Excellent analytical skills and aptitude for problem solving, including data analysis and

Financial & commercial acumen

Project management skills; ability to provide direction and support to others is essential.

Effective time-management skills.

Expert level proficiency with MS Office Suite and advanced expertise with PowerPoint.

Creative, innovative and able to successfully seize opportunities as they develop.

Proven ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple and complex projects

simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities, to meet deadlines in fast-paced servicedriven

Relationships

Influence and advise supervisors, peers, or subordinates on a global scale; possibly including external customers or end-

users. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

Internal : Project Management, Sub-Regional and Regional Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, Customer

Administration (CA), Legal, Finance, Commercial Policy and Line Management.

External : Business Stakeholders and Management.

This role sits within our Financial & Risk ( F&R ) business. On January 30, 2018, Thomson Reuters announced that it signed a definitive agreement to enter into a strategic partnership with private equity funds managed by Blackstone related to the company's F&R business.

As part of the transaction, Thomson Reuters has agreed to sell a 55% majority stake in Financial & Risk and will retain a 45% interest in the business.

Thomson Reuters will maintain full ownership of its Legal, Tax & Accounting and the Reuters News businesses. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year and is subject to specified regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
